The 2026-27 CALIE Certified Educator cohort opens on Wednesday, October 14 with a live virtual session on leadership identity. Participants take stock of who they are as leaders, what they value, the strengths they bring, and where they already have influence in their school, district, or organization. It is the first of twelve sessions that run through April 14, 2027.

- Time: 4:00 to 5:30 pm PT
- Virtual: Live on Zoom, link sent to enrolled participants
- Applications: Applications for the 2026-27 cohort close October 14, 2026

Most people in this program lead without a title that says so. Coaches, TOSAs, coordinators, and teachers move change forward every day, usually from the middle of a system rather than the top, and that is where this session starts. Before anyone picks a capstone project, they need a clear picture of the influence they already hold and how they want to use it.
In this session you will:
- Map your leadership strengths and the values behind them
- Identify where you already have influence, formal or not
- Name the conditions in your context that shape what you can move
- Begin the reflection that feeds your capstone project
Sessions 1 through 3 form the first arc of the program and ask one question: what challenge am I trying to address, why does it matter, who is impacted, and what kind of leader do I need to become to move it forward? This session lays the groundwork for the rest of the year.
