Session 2 of the 2026-27 CALIE Certified Educator cohort meets Wednesday, October 28 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm PT. Good ideas fail in schools for predictable reasons, and most of them have to do with context rather than the idea itself. A tool nobody has time to learn or a plan that skips the people who have to carry it out will stall no matter how sound it looked on paper. This session slows participants down long enough to look at the system they are working in before they design anything for it.

In this session you will:

  • Identify the stakeholders your work touches and what each one needs
  • Surface barriers to access and account for learner variability from the start
  • Assess educator capacity honestly, including time and confidence
  • Spot opportunities already present in your context that you can build on

Participants leave with a clearer read on their environment, which they carry into Session 3 when they define the leadership challenge their capstone will address.
